Actually, they're properly prepared in little white-and-green Judo-outfits with asterisks for logos.

I like 'em pan fried in a cinnamon-y glaze.
No marshmallows, please.

But if you do use marshmallows, I'd recommend the mini's. The large ones might be a bit large compared to the little Yamsters.

Use mini marshmallows. The large ones tend to burn before they melt, and depending on if you are using canned or fresh often are the same size as the yams themselves. Presentation-wise, go with small, it just looks better, and only add them at the last 10 min. of baking. unless you want the burnt patchy look.

Definitely go with the mini-marshmallows! You can arrange them in a nice pattern and they do not look so "lumpy" on top. Anyway, the big marshmallows should only be stuck on a stick and burned in a campfire!

My mother uses the mini marshmallows, but you can use the large ones if you like marshmallows that much. You just have to estimate how far they will sperad when they melt.

DA, everyone loves the little marshmallows, but if you want to be unique go ahead and use the big ones.

Smear some marshmallow cream on there, it's much more fluffy.
Then sprinkle some nuts on top.

The minis are good, with a light dusting of cinnamon sugar which consists of white sugar with a big pinch of cinnamon, a lesser pinch of nutmeg and a smidgen of ground clove. (As you can see, I use my fingers instead of measuring utensils....)

I also do them w/o the mallows. Slice them in a buttered baking dish and top instead with drained crushed pineapple, fresh cranberries, walnuts, brown sugar. Drizzle with maple syrup and dot with butter.

Bon appétit mes amis! :)
