Unfortunately, it takes a long time for the FDA (the Food and Drug Association) to test various drugs that are used on people. Many agencies are still trying to come up with a drug that will help smokers to quit. Of course, the best way to stop smoking is to never smoke in the first place. Also, governments do get money from the taxes levied on cigarettes and other nicotine products, which is quite a temptation when they're trying to accumulate money for their programs. So, the best fight against smoking is to not smoke.

Well, sadly you can't just 'invent' a drug that does exactly what you want (or we would have cured the common cold by now) and I know there is a lot of research in to anti cancer treatments, and probably in to drugs to help people quit smoking - but these things take time and money so we just have to trust they are working on it.
Also, with regard to the drug to help people quit - well, they got in to it themselves and put themselves at risk and there are thousands of sick people out there who didn't do anything to make themselves that way, perhaps they deserve to be more of a priority? And I say this as a smoker, so I should be biased towards my kind!

There is a drug available...but if all smokers successfully quit..imagine how much money the government would lose in tax.Taxes on ciggerettes rise mightily after every budget, so the government benifits from your addiction.
I smoked for 8yrs and thought I would never be able to quit...but it really comes down to taking it one day at a time and not guilt tripping if you do reach for a ciggie!!
Willpower is required no matter what method.

The government make far too much money on people smoking in taxes! This is why they try to legalise prostutution and lower the class of drugs.

they have and most of it is free .... cheaper if you have good will power but most smokers don't... its hard but you can do it ..don't feel like a second hand citizen or leaper any more like me ..would have stopped soon but being bullied into stopping isn't fair folks ...so they ban smoking in public place etc etc why they still allowing the sale of cigarettes lose to much revenue think there is worse carcinogen's in atmosphere than cig smoke ..

even the government have found out some medicine that helps the smokers to quit, 99 percent lies on the smokers themselves. if they do not have the will to quit, the effort will be down the drain...so no use of inventing one....... :p

Because every single person in this world already has the medicine to stop smoking. It's called willpower.

You have to have the will power to quit smoking it not up to anyone else.If you want to quit think of your health because that more important than anything. You would feel alot better if you would quit. There nothing out there out there to help you it all up to you.
