Aspirin to Prevent Blood Clots
About one in four heart attacks and strokes may be prevented by aspirin.

A daily low dose of aspirin lowers the risk of having a heart attack or stroke if you have:

* angina.
* a previous heart attack (myocardial infarction).
* peripheral vascular disease.
* a previous stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA).
* certain other heart and blood vessel conditions.

The usual dose is 75 mg. This is a lot less than the dose for pain relief. If you need to take painkillers (eg for headaches) it is best to take alternative painkillers such as paracetamol

There is a great probability that this concept can even be used to prevent disease from re-infecting the body. For example, if a person with a specific disease in their blood is cured of that disease and the dead micro-organisms are left within the bloodstream. It is possible that the person could give blood transfusions to others of the same blood type and those dead micro-organisms could transfer a vaccination effect into the bloodstream of the recipient in the transfusion. A transfusion of a healed blood donor could vaccinate another from contracting a cured disease!
