I'm looking to build a Sine, Square and Triangle waveform generator based upon the ICL 8038. Pre-etched PCB would help. Frequency range 100Hz-100KHz. RS no longer stock the chip and likewise Maplins. Self-assembly kit preferred.

I used the 8038 several times and found that it is infuriatingly difficult, if not impossible, to maintain decent sine purity over a wide range of frequencies.

I then discovered the XR-2206 and dropped the 8038. It is so much easier to use and I suggest that you at least have a look at it before you go ahead.

I may, just may, have an 8038 somewhere amongst my toys if you are determined to try it. No promises though.
(Oh, I just noticed Empty tummy's offer.)

This is one circuit which you may find interesting http://www.davidbridgen.com/swpgen.htm
