I lost my cat recently, and it feels like losing a human loved one. I've been thru both. R ther eany websites or chat rooms that deal w/ the loss of pets?

I lost a dog 10 years ago, and it still hurts, when I think off him, so yes, I do have the same feeling for an animal, as for a human, sometimes even stronger, as animals love you unconditionally, don't ask questions, don't judge you, just take what love you can give them and give in return much much more. I'm really sorry for your loss, and believe me, it will get easyer with time passing.

Yeah... i love animals. I sleep with my cat everynight, losing her could do some damage to me. felines or any other pet that does act of affection will make you attached like humans do. I'm still holding the pictures of my dearests up till now and sometimes laugh and sad at the same times.

There's also some regret that i couldn't do my best to them. I think this is normal, i mean it's love that drives the world around. Get well soon... life goes on.

I think that whatever animal you have living with you is definitely a part of your life .Once they have been around for years they are part of the family. I can't go across the street to sit and have a few beers with the neighbors without the cats wanting to be there. Everyone that visits talks to the boys . Their the kids you can't send away to college but their just as costly.

I find it hard to distinguish between a favourite cat and a person. just maybe the cat is better to know, they dont demand much, give lots of love and joy, are always there for you and you can cuddle them anytime. not many humans are like that. pets are a true treasure in themselves so it stands to reason that we miss them badly. keep a good photo where you can see it and only think the good thoughts until you can bring yourself to get another
cheers

I love my cat more than most people in my life, and he has given me more love than most people in my life. Sounds sad, but it's true. I've had him for 17 years and I don't want to think about what I'll do without him. I hate the "Get over it, it's just a cat" kind of people.....you don't have to love cats, but have sympathy for those who do....

When my cat passed away, i wouldnt talk to anyone at first but then i was given another kitten as a present and named Mickey, as my other cat, that died. You hould also do the same and not mourn for your cat. Just keep him/her forever in your heart n mind.

Actually, I feel closer to my pets than I do some people whom I consider friends.

Sorry about your loss and I hope you find a group to share with.

I love my cats but I do not know of any grief counselors for cat loss.

Moreso. I still mourn Minnie, my Norwegian Forest Cat. Aand I love Furbie, my Calico.

Cats are pure and self-reliant.
They don't lie. They have no egos to please. Just feed them and groom them, and they take care of themselves, occasionally coming to me for some affectionate
rubbing and petting.

Cats never ask: "Do you love me?". Cats never demand:"We have to talk."

Cats are better than women.
