The trinity is an apostate belief held onto by the Churches but not in the bible. And I am sorry to say that islam is a false religion because God already had the holy scriptures finished 600 years before the Koran. God didn't need to have the scriptures rewritten after all his purposes were already completed. God's puposes cannot be thwarted and there is no mention in God's infinite wisdom and foresight that He needed the scriptures rewritten. Something this important would of been backed up solidly such as the coming of Jesus was propesied many times in the hebrew scriptures even his line of geneology. There is no Mohammed or proof to his claim any where in the scriptures.
The Dead Sea Scrolls supercede oldest known texts of the hebrew bible to when Jesus was on earth and not reveal anything that would justify the Koran being the correct Holy book..
The problems with christianity and all it's denominations are not due to the scriptures but to the traditions and political ambitions of the Churches that misguide and misdirect people.
The scriptures of the books and letters that make the Holy Bible are remarkably accurate which what you would expect as the texts were inspired and protected by God. God doesn't need to keep rewritting the book else it would defeat mankinds trust in the scriptures if they were corruptable. The Dead Sea Scrolls allow us to have much trust in the bible and faith that it still remains accurate.

The scripture found in 2 Timothy gives weight to the accuracy and validity to the holy scriptures that is used.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

That is a bold statement of faith by the disciple Timothy that mankind can have absolute trust in.

In order to understand Christians or Christianity you must read the entire Bible with understanding. And, understand God's over all plan. It is like reading a novel and only reading a sentence or paragraph with out reading the entire novel., you will not get the story at all.
I asked my daughter has she ever see or read the story of King Kong. She said no. She said that she only knew that King Kong went on top of skyscraper an fought the planes. She started to make her own ideas on how King Kong came about, of course, she was wrong. My point is that, don't read a verse here or there. Read the entire book in order to understand the story.

think about this.... First, how could evolution possibly be true?? look how complex our universe is, the human body can't even be recreated by scientist!! How could a big boom or puddle of muck create it. So that leads me to believe that there must be an intelligent creator. Second, think about your life. I as a christian have a hard time understanding how people like athiest can live there whole life without a purpose or reward at the end! I know that when my time here on earth is overI will be in heaven with my God!! having an awsome party!! This is a very good question and I hope I can put in a form you can understand.

As you know in the 2nd chapter of Genesis God married Adam and Eve. God said Man shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh. God said man and woman will no longer be two, but one flesh. Literally? Of course not. This means when you see one you will see the other. They will agree as one unit.
I think you will also agree that the Godhead trinity will agree better than any married couple.

In each of roles listed above I am a different person and have different functions that I perform. This is how it is with God. God the father is beyond our comprehension and yet the father desires a close and personal relationship with his children. That is why he sent Jesus so that we could identify with God and have a relationship on a personal level. And the Holy Spirit sent by Jesus is the Touch of Gods in our present lifes. Different roles of God, same God. God had to do it this way because of our weakness and fraility.

The way I like to explain it is that God is too big to be confined. He is infinite. So that if He chooses to take on a human body and come to earth as a human being, thereby taking on the limitations of being human, He does not thereby cease to exist and live in heaven.

Likewise, the fact that God lives in heaven or lived in a human body on this earth does not mean that He is only in heaven or only in that body. He is able to go anywhere (including taking up habitation inside a human being) and act any way He pleases. He does this by His Holy Spirit.

There is a traditional summation of this:

God the Father = God above us.
God the Son = God with us
God the Holy Spirit = God among/in us

However, another implication of His being infinite is that He cannot be limited by the physical universe - He exists outside of it, not to mention He created it. Therefore we cannot say that "God = everything" (and even less "Everything = God").
