Various charities will accept empty printer ink cartridges. Guide Dogs for the Blind is one I use to get rid of my empty Lexmark Cartridges.

There are usually places to put them that help charities out, I think they have one in the Argos stores.
If I order ink I usually get a bag that goes to a charity.

Many places collect them for charity - I usually give mine to my local computer store. i have also in the past given them to Tesco who give half the money to charity and give you clubcard points for the other half.
