There is no evidence of this among young adults but it is often suggested that when old people who have been together for most of their lives and one of them dies, often times the other dies soon after and it is sometimes chalked up as dieing of lonliness.

I doubt someone could die of loneliness, but loneliness can lead to other health problems such as depression, poor nutrition, self-neglect, alcoholism, even carelessness that can lead to injury or illness.

One recent report found single men were more likely to die prematurely than smokers. Now this is not an indication for single men to start smoking to prolong their lives (far from it) and this report isn't something to quote in a textbook, but it just goes to show that being in a relationship can have positive consequences towards one's health.

If these two persons were so connected in love....and with the loss (usually death) can manifest itself in this person left behind to grieve, become depressed, loss of appetite...if there is no intervention..due to that persons reaction to the loneliness death may occur. Its truly sad...my grandmother died 2 months after my papa died...they were married for 60 years.....before she died, she said "Pammie I am going to go take care of papa...remember nanna loves you....."

Lothario, I hope you find someone that you really connect with and then lose them. Then you might stop being so insensitive. You've no idea how it feels to lose someone that you actually *love*. Hooking up with someone and losing them is much different than loving someone and losing them. You love the person for who they are, not what position they fill in your life. You might understand that when you're older.

Oh jeez, grow up. You act like you will never find a man ever again. Quit feeling sorry for yourself and quit trying to seek attention and pity from everyone. Loser.

one can die of a lot of things .
I think the real matter is to look well and see well and think well. then I think one will believe that he is great creature and worth to live a great life , and will see that life is beautiful and worth to be lived beautifully .
