Apparently not, since it takes about 64 million years for the comet that hit the earth back then to hit the earth again. It's the same hit that the earth took when the dinosaurs ruled the planet. The earth was hit so hard that it sent massive amounts of dust and debris into the atmosphere, blocking out the sun and sending the planet into an ice age, wiping out all life from the surface of the earth. Before then, many millions of years before that, the lifeforms that existed then were wiped out by another comet hit. The earth has been wiped clean of lifeforms various times but we're not due for another hit yet.

For some people unfortunately. I don't think the whole world is gonna end today the chances of that happening are very slim.
