I have looking in his ears and they are raw where he has scratched them, but I don't see anything. Can you see ear mites with the naked eye? Can they be treated at home, or should I get him into the vet today?
Thanks,

Your Yorkie deffinitely has ear mites, and it is treatable at your vet or at home but the medicine you will have to acquire at the vet, mites in the ears you can't see with the naked eye, it won't kill your Yorkie but it is best to be treated asap

Could be ear mites, an ear infection or something else entirely. Either way he needs a vet.

It could be either mites or infection. If he has been in water recently he could also have water in his ears. Take him to the vet and have him look at them. You dont want to treat him yourself if you are not positive whats wrong. You could end up giving him something he does not need.

Could be allergies or ear mites. One of the monthly heartworm meds to prevent heartworm also eliminates fleas and ear mites.Check with your vet.
