i'm preparing for an exam but i forget whatever i learn in just a span of two days. i have to go over several times before it sticks. i also tend to sleep in the first 15minutes of my studies before i can start absorbing anything. i need quick ways of studying since time is catching up fast with me.

Several tips for memory retention:
-make sure you're focused on the task.
-minimize distractions in your study area.
-use multiple methods of learning i.e. visual (study guides and notecards), auditory (say questions/answers aloud)
-study with a group
-use association to relate questions to answers.

For speed, repeat aloud key words in questions with key words in answers. This helps trigger memory recall. And of course, an all-nighter the night before the exam is always fun. Stock up on caffeine and pizza.

GOOD LUCK!

It may well be too late to learn anything new, so just study the easy stuff. Look after yourself in every possible way: physicallly, emotionally, spiritually...
Get sleep, food, socialise, exercise. Try to avoid junk food, stimulants, and sleeping pills.

Apart from ensuring you get a good nights sleep.
Practice association my friend. Form mental pictures and connect them to your project. It doesn't matter what they are, in fact the more outragous the easier they can be to recall.
This is the basis of most concentration and memory exercises.
