Both the words have the roots of fasci. Are they related in some way? I know fascism is what Mussolini invented, about the way to rule like a dictator and the citizens cannot go against the ruler. He she will be executed or mysteriously dissapeated. But Fascinaiton is just a normal word of intrigue and something that is kool to someone. Do they have somehting to do with each other???

The two words have nothing to do with each other. Fascination comes almost directly from the Latin fascinare, to fascinate.

Fascism comes from the Italian fascio, which is a bundle (of sticks) or group–the notion being that the group is stronger than the individual. Fascio derives from the popular Latin fascium (Latin fascis), meaning bundle. Fasces (the plural of fascis) in Latin were "a bundle of rods bound up with an axe in the middle and its blade projecting. These rods were carried by lictors before the superior magistrates at Rome as an emblem of their power." (Oxford English Dictionary)

For the record, Benito Mussolini was executed in a quite gruesome manner at the end of the war. There was no mysterous disappearence there.

Purchasing a good dictionary is an excellent way to dissipate mistakes: they are very informative! there is not intrigue in Fascination... The correct answer is the one offered by Faz.
