Persephone or Demeter.Greek names are strong, and depending on what kind of dog it is, you can find one that fits it.

I had a solid black Great Dane that recently passed away his official registered name was

Goliath Cerberus Dumbass

He was large, scary, and stupid. I thought the name fit, and I loved him...

You should go along the lines of letting them fall into their own name, you don't necessarily have to stick with female names. I have a female hamster, and her name is Peter. She lazy and good for nothing, so I named her after Peter on Family guy. If the name fits, you must pick.

I use all different things when naming dogs. I am a breeder and give all my pups temporary names. Most times I will use things that associate with the month they are born. Other times I go by their temperament or behavior. When my Chocolate female had a litter of chocolate pups I used chocolate names, they were all girls. They were Hershey, Godiva and Cocoa.

whatever you decide on, I did read somewhere that your dog's name should ideally contain only 2 syllables.
