Do u have any other sign or symtoms????
PTT will go upper in some disease ....special when the number 8 factor of ur blood goagulation system decrease....hemophilia....DIC(Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation) disease .....von wilbrand ....and antiphospholipid.....but in all of these cases u have to have other sign and symptoms and u have to pass some test for them more than just a PTT...
antiphospholipid disease is a imune systemn disorder...it happen specialy in female....they will have trombocytopenia...thrombosis and miscariage repeat....the docs will notice to find some special antibodies like antibodi againts kardiolipin and....just they can call u as an antiphospholipid case if u have these antibodies...
.

.
i checked ur other Qs and i find u asked ab lupus....are u one who have lupus?if u are then its better for u to check for the antibodies cuz the people who has lupus can have those antibodies more strong than other people....

1. Ask your doctor. Either go back at no charge, or leave a message at the doctor's office that you need more information about your diagnosis and that you want the doctor to call you back.

2. Do a search (Google or other) for antiphospholipid.

3. Most likely, the doctor did more testing than just a PTT.

I too have Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. It is a life threatening disease that should not be taken lightly. Please, please visit the website below. I found so many articles to read there, and being educated about this disease is half the battle. Doctors are ignorant about this disease because it is very rare, affecting less than 2% of the American population. My APS was diagnosed in '04 when I suffered clots in my legs and lungs. Since then I have reclotted several times, but fortunately have survived them all. You need to find a specialist and join a support group. All this can be found on the site below. I have found so much support there, you have no idea. This disease does more than just cause life threatening clots. It also causes migranes, memory loss, mental confusion, terrible fatigue, arthritis, muscle weakness and pain, and many other things. Don't ignore it! And know that I'll be praying for you. We all have to stick together in this!
