Neither the ten commandments or the seven deadly sins say anything about it. Aren't those the seventeen big rules? I am a bit confused with the logic behind the persecution of homosexuals. I know plenty of people who are perfectly nice, dependable and trustworthy human beings that happen to be gay. Why do they have to go to Hell?

I don't consider the "unnatural" arguement to be a valid one, mostly due to the fact that humans use unnatural materials in their daily lives such as polyester, steel, latex, etc. Try to argue that a human drinking milk from a cow is natural!

Ok..... I understand that some of you think homosexuality is an abomination. The question is: why? And the fact that God didn't create something doesn't necessarily make it an abomination. God didn't create the Catholic church.

So a heterosexual married couple who never have children are also sinners?

My advice to you is don't listen to the Christians. They use the "unnatural" and "abomination" arguments so much they've lost all meaning. Homosexuality is not a sin. I, like you, know good people who happen to be gay. And to address your confusion with the logic behind the persecution, there is no logic.

In Christianity, it says that God created a woman for a man and a man for a woman, not woman for woman and man for man. If you are a homosexual, but has converted to Christ, you will still go to Heaven, because you believe in Jesus and the Resurection. However, in the Bible, being gay is still a sin. But no matter how big [or small] the sin, God will ALWAYS forgive you, as long as you ask for it.
PS: just for the record, i don't think it is right to persecute homosexuals. I haven't met them myself, but they're are just like you and me...they just have a different love life. :D

Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abominatio. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.
This us one of God's laws, and death is the consequence to breaking the law.
Leviticus 18:22
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It IS an abomination.
I have a few gay friends, i'm not saying that they are bad people. I am saying that I don't agree with their lifestyle, nor do I approve of it. But they will have to answer to God when judgement day comes. God hates the sin not the sinner. But if we are to treat them differently then we are not being very christian like. We are not the judge of other people only God is.

The sexual act in itself is Un-Natural! Male and Females are for procreation and marriage only. It is an abomination against God.
The word of God speaks plainly about it in Leviticus. Gays are humans. Yes,they can be nice but living in sin will not get u to heaven. God hates the sin but not the sinner. If they repent and turn their lifestyle around,God will forgive them.

The bible says it is an abomination. Read leviticus. It says a man should not turn after his own kind. It is unnatural. Also, just so you know there are more commandments than just the Ten. There are hundreds of commandments throughout the bible.

No, but Leviticus goes on about it. The problem with following the bible to the letter is that aside from the 10 Commandments, everything within is man's interpretation of God's Word.
I don't think that God will frown on people with alternative lifestyles - He's not as narrow-minded as the Churches that represent Him on Earth.

The same people that condemn homosexual marriage don't have any trouble with inter-racial marriage ( yoking the ox with the asss). That was a sure ticket to hell just a few years ago. But, of course, that's not a trendy kind of sin, anymore. If Christians would stay in the New Testament they wouldn't agonize over what total strangers are doing in private. My theory is that they just have dirty minds.

Because Pat Robertson said so, that's why.
And don't ask him about using his Christian airplanes to smuggle gold & diamonds out of Africa, that's none of your business.
(sarcasm off)
People who quote Leviticus need to read the entire book and make sure they are complying with all those laws, as well.
H Y P O C R I T E S is us ought to be their motto.
How many babies did Jesus have?
How many babies did the disciples have?
How many babies do Catholic priests and nuns have?
Seems like an awful lot of sin going on if not having babies is a sin. The aforementioned didn't/don't even try.

In the Bible several times, gays are criticized, both in the Old and the New Testaments. It is an abomination, an aberration because it is against nature. Men are supposed to have relationship with women not with other men

To love God is to do His Will. To do His will is to follow His laws. One of His laws was to not be homosexual. The 10 commandments aren't the only laws - see Leviticus .. pay close attention to chapter 18, verse 22.
Do the math.
