The best On-Line guide to tracing your family tree is
http://rwguide.rootsweb.com/

If you decide to try, a genealogy program will help. Trying to trace your ancestors with pencil and paper is like trying to write a novel with pencil and paper instead of "Word" - it CAN be done, but it is 8 times as hard.

The LDS Church will give you a copy of PAF for free. Go to
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/default.asp
and click on "Order/Download Products"

Roots Magic
http://www.rootsmagic.com
is my favorite. It costs $29. They couldn't stay in business if it wasn't better than PAF.

On Ancestry.com there was only 1 Rothach listed & it said they immigrated from Switzerland. Munro is a Scottish variant of Monroe. In Ireland, Monroe replaced the surname Mulroy which means red- haired chieftain. In 1891 there were 1747 Munro families living in the U.K. 18% lived in Lancashire. 26% lived in London. Most immigrated through the ports at Glasgow, Scotland or Moville, Ireland.
