I don't know if it's *still* going around, but I had it in March of this year. It's not a cold...it's the flu. Mine started with a horrible headache, then a sore throat, then coughing and coughing and coughing. Body aches and fever rounded out the illness. It's viral so they can't really give you anything for it, except to relieve symptoms. Nothing will get rid of them but time.
A cough suppressant at night, a cough expectorant during the day, Vicks Vaporub, and nasal spray or oral decongestant are the items I used for the duration of my illness (which happened to be a total of 4 weeks).

It could be a very bad case of the flu or pneumonia. You really should go to urgent care asap. In some cases, even in young people, it can be fatal if untreated/supported. Good luck. Jessica R.N.

yes my family and I have it really bad right now and can't get rid of it. i have it the worst, I'm constantly coughing

YEP YEP YEP!!!! ITS CALLED FLUMONIA!! IT'S A MIXTURE OF FLU AND PNEUMONIA IT'S TERRIBLE LOL!! FOOL-EM! I THINK THAT YOU ARE JUST HAVE A COLD WITH THE WHOPPING COUGH!!
