I agree, it's not a choice.

I think that for some it is a choice based on factors in their lives. For some it's the way they are and they knew it at an early age or admitted it later in life after trying to be socially acceptable heterosexuals.
Animals have sex in a less "thoughtful" way (okay, some people are pretty thoughtless about it as well). I think animals use sex as a form of physical expression. It's just that and doesn't matter if it's a male/female/procreation thing at all.

Thank you so much for that link! That is something I have wondered for a very long time, which animals displayed homosexual behavior.
I think you have a really good point. The study of homosexuality in certain animals may help scientists figure out how much is "nurture" and how much is "nature" when it comes to homosexual inclinations.

I would be wary of relying on claims about homosexual animals. I haven't seen any convincing evidence to that effect. Nevertheless, it is ridiculous to say that homosexuality is a choice, as anyone claiming it is would readily find out if they tried to stop fancying the opposite sex and start fancying their own sex instead - It just doesn't happen. You can't choose to be homosexual.

Well, there aren't any homosexual animals except human animals. Homo pertains to humans. But there are animal species who have same sex preferences. My personal belief is it is not wrong because homosexuality is not a learned behavior.

Comparing us to animals is not smart. Animals eat their own feces, so you want to be compared to that. Males in the wild, if no women are around need a release, they aren't gay, they just need to release and there ya go. It is a choice, release or lose the boys.

Yeah, that's the point. That's best way u can explain those narrow-minded people that homosexuality is a part of nature.

What separates us from the animals is that animals have no soul, and therefore cannot sin.
When God created the animals, He simply said, "Let there be ... "
But when God created Adam, He gave him breath. God gave Adam a piece of Himself.
Since God is intelligent, and He gave us a piece of Himself, that's what separates us from the animals. We have an eternal soul, and they don't.
To perform homosexual acts is a sin because God said so. Animals, not having God's intelligence, are incapable of knowing right from wrong. Therefore, they cannot sin.
Many would say that animals do know right from wrong. Truth is, they only know pain from no pain, and avoid things that would cause them pain. That does not mean they have a soul.
