It is questions like these that make yahoo answers what it is....
I get restless at nights too, some say it is a twitch pattern that develops while you are sleeping. The reslessness and twitching of your legs keeps your body from hitting deep sleep - effectively wasting the time you spend in bed.
I just reached level three..!!!!!

you have what is called restless leg syndrome..i have had it for about ten yrs now..there are many ways to treat this...i know what you are feeling and it is horrible. there are several medications that can be taken for this..you internist can recommend them..but my neurologist is the one who ordered mine. I take mirapex for this horrible syndrome..also i use vicodin es which helps..but it seems like the mirapex works the best..if i miss taking my medication the restless leg syndrome is back in a flash and it drive one crazy. I feel sorry for you..go get help asap..you'll feel so much better...until then i guess you'll have to get out of bed a walk around for a little while..then go back to bed and see if it improves..you may have to do this several times before you legs settle down enough to sleep...hope you have a good dr. if you don't get the correct diagnosis , try another dr until you find a dr that has had experience with this syndrome.. good luck and let me know how things work out for you..Im sorry you feel so bad now..but with help you'll almost forget you have this problem...take care now. queen crystal

I think that Restless Leg Syndrome is a bunch of crap and the pills have worse side effects than what's happening.
I have that same exact thing happen to me a lot too. It drives my bf crazy because he likes to lay his head on my lap and my legs just keep jerking or twitching strongly.

Try squatting for 10 minutes straight, using only thigh muscles to hold you up. That will put them legs to sleep for sure!

legs cramps are a very common problem. sometimes, a little exercise before bed can help aleviate some of that. my leg cramps stemmed from an iron defenciency. after i discovered that i was anemic and treated it, it sure helped.
