This question is not as clear as I would like. Let's define church as a body of believers who follow Christ rather than a place, or building. So, to rephrae the question, Can a person who believes in Jesus and was baptized but does not involve themselves with other Christians be sure of their salvation?

First of all I cannot judge a person, but I can say that God wants us to believe, be baptized, and to go to church.
I believe that if we are truly christians that God's word is Mandatory. We must be fed the word. And how else are you going to be fed? Unless you go to church to hear the word.
Think of it as this....You have no more food in your house...where you going to go to get more?
We must hear God's word in order to grow as believers in Christ. It also says in the bible that it is good to be around others so we can lift each other up.

Well I don't think anyone can be sure of salvation, but the Bible doesn't require church attendance. Confess, be baptized, and live a righteous life:

- Believe that Jesus is the Son of God. (John 3:16, Acts 8:37, Romans 10:9)
- Repent and leave your life of Sin. (Luke 13:3, Acts 2:38)
- Confess publicly before witnesses that Jesus is the Son of God. (Romans 10:10, Matthew 10:32, Luke 12:8).
- Be Immersed in Water for the remission of your sins. (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:3-4, Galatians 3:26-27, I Peter 3:21)

Church is really more about reinforcing beliefs. Be around like-minded people to keep you strong when you're tending weak. A good idea, but not a requirement.

Since salvation is not dependent upon one's actions (only trusting Jesus as Savior and Lord), then yes, you can be sure of your salvation whether you go to church or not. Think about people around the globe who don't have church as an option. Their salvation is neither more nor less valid based on their attendance of church. I once heard a clip from a song by Keith Green many years ago, and it's stuck with me. He said, "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger." LOVE IT!

One thing you need to keep in mind is that the word "church" has two meanings. 1) The building/temple where people congregate for worship. 2) The body of Christ...that is, the believers who function as a unit in service to God (different roles, different functions, but all part of the same body). By far, the latter of these two is the more important in terms of personal growth as a believer. Fellowship and worship with other believers is important to spiritual growth, encouragement to others, service, etc. The Bible exhorts us to continue meeting together...not because it's necessary to salvation, but because we function as a body far more effectively when all the parts of the body are working together in harmony. Your presence is important...if not for you, then for others.

But don't get hung up on church...the building...going to every meeting. God knows your heart, as do you. If you're a disciple of Christ, if he's your Lord and Savior, that can never change. And with time, you'll grow to love and cherish the time spent in worship and service with other believers.

If you want to talk more about this, let me know and I'll send you my email address. :)

First of all you should know if person that have baptized you have really a mandate to make you free.
Second who Jesus is? How you can believe to somebody that you even do not know. You have just a concept of who Jesus was/is, you actually do not know.
This means that you can never be sure that you will gain true salvation. This does not means that you will not get the salvation you try to achieve. It just means that you really do not know. Believe me that mostly nobody on the Earth actually relay knows.

In my opinion, no. The Bible clearly states one must:
Hear the gospel plan of salvation (John 6:45; Rev. 1:3)
Believe in Christ (James 2:24; Mark 16:16; John 6:29)
Repent of Sin (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; 3:19)
Confess Christ deity (Romans 10:9, 10)
Be immersed for Forgiveness of sins (1Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16)
Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)

How can we be sure of anything?
But is this person was sure enough to "believe" in Jesus and be baptized, they should look at what that means to them.

My father could find all kinds of relevant scripture for you, but the one I remember at the moment is .... where ever two or more of you gather in My name, there I am in the midst of you.

A dear friend was always happy to remind me that by grace are you saved.

I'd say find like minded people and discuss your beliefs if you aren't ready for churchgoing. Read the Bible (if that is what you believe) and see if you can find the answer you need.

I'm sure it is possible. If you are not fellowshipping with other believers though, you are missing out on a big part of the Christian life. As far as I know, believing in Jesus as your Saviour and repenting of your sins are the only requirements for salvation. One way to check if you are saved is to examine your life and see if you have evidence of the fruits of the spirit.

Christ is someone to know and trust - John 20:24-34
Religion is something to believe and do - Mathew 15:1-9
Religion and Christ are not mutually exclusive, but they are very distinct. -James 1:27
I f a person believes(and trusts) in Jesus and was baptized with water, I think going to Church is secondary.

going to church won't save you, living a good life the best you can according the Master's teachings will. Remember, Jesus tore down the Temple - and taught that the real Temple was within you. Nothing wrong with church, but study the Bible yourself too. You'll get a lot more out of it.

First of all, you DO NOT get to heaven based on good works. If that was true, then why would God send Jesus to die for us. The only way to be sure of your salvation in Jesus is if you have asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins, believe that He was born of a virgin mother, lived a sinless life(because atonement requires a perfect sacrifice), died for your sins on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
