Why won't God be the ultimate mathmatician, no one else could put past, present and future events in the text of a document created before the computer was ever invented.

No it CAN NOT be done with any other book in the whole world! The math behind it is far beyond what you could do in a lifetime.

absolutely real. been working with the founders. there are codes in everything - your physical body is a genetic code. everything you see around you is encoded, whether natural or artificial, codes of atoms, molecules, etc. etc.
when people make video games, the characters come to life because of codes of zeroes and ones.
reason you haven't seen more of it on television is Hollywood is not sure what to do with it, and the actual discoverers do not want to sensationalize it.

I used to. Until I learned the following things:
First, the text we have today of the Bible is altered from the original. Letters have been added over the years which are alternative spellings. For example, Hebrew is all consonants. Occasionally there is a vav (v, w, o, or u) which is added which can serve as a vowel sound. For example, the word shalom ש××× has 4 letters: Sh, L, O, M. That "o" is a vav. It is possible to spell the word without the vav. In the earlier manuscripts there are spelling differences similar to this. The same is true with the letter yod which is a y but can serve as the vowel i (ee).
I attended a Discovery Seminar, ( http://www.aish.com/seminars/discovery/Codes/codes.htm ) which is put together by Aish HaTorah. It is a Jewish seminar in which several pieces of possible evidence for the truth of the Torah are presented. One of the main things was the Torah Codes. (Torah = first 5 books of the Bible).
At the time I was quite impressed. But I soon learned some problems. The 1994 article in Statistical Science which was about the statistical significance of the Torah Codes was touted at the Seminar as a victory for the Torah truth. However, that article was refuted in a later edition of the peer-reviewed Statistical Science. There were problems with the calculations.
I also soon discovered that there were Orthodox Jews who were against the Torah Codes being presented as evidence for the Torah. I wondered why. I found out that it is not sound evidence and some of the research against it was actually done by strong believers in the Bible.
I am not good at math. It is hard for me, or the average person to really and truly know whether something like the Codes is really mathematically relevant. It can sound great, but unless you have good knowledge of statistics you cannot really know if it is significant. I did my best to study the Codes to determine the truth. I have concluded that they are false. Using the same method that Worun, Witztum, and Rips used to find Torah Codes, "codes" have also been found in the Koran, and in Moby Dick. It is just not significant.
Please study the links below, particularly the first one.
In the end, I would like to point out that if there are truly hidden codes in the Bible, it is just not possible at this time to know it, given our current means of discovering if a phenomena is statistically signifcant. In other words, perhaps there really are "codes" there. But it cannot be PROVEN. It can only be taken on faith. This is why it should not be offered as PROOF for the Bible.

While the predictions found in the Bible Code are riveting, the Bible Code as such has been generally discredited as a prophetic vehicle.
Due to certain laws of mathematics, significant letter patterns will emerge in _any_ literary work, not just in the Bible. For example, debunkers have found the same prophecies in Moby Dick (see sources), which, though an American classic and an excellent example of literary achievement, is clearly _not_ an inspired text.
This technicality may or may not have an impact on your faith.
Best of luck --

Sorry folks but the Bible Code is complete and utter rubbish... at least as far as the initial claims were concerned!
The same procedure will work with practically ANY book. I saw a guy do it and to proove the point he even used the method upon pop song lyrics to predict 9/11. And then he used the method upon the 9/11 report to predict the pop song. The Bible code worked (with the Bible) to predict the pop song lyrics too... I think it was one by Snoop Doggy Dog. Fact is though that it'll work with ANYTHING. It's just math.

It was interesting but maybe someone discovered that the same technique could be done with a book that has the same number of pages as the bible

Well actually it's the Torah Code. (First 5 Books of the Old Testament). I don't know, it's very intriguing. Looks kinda convincing.

I don't believe in the Bible. Don't get me wrong, I am a catholic and I ADORE God and Jesus, but to me the bible is only a moral and ethics book written by men.
