The Minolta Maxxum (Digital SLR) is abosuletely awesome. I have the 5 Series both for film and digital versions.

If price is no object, go with Nikon, a camera with good quality, at a reasonable price is Cannon.

for the money a canon 20D is the best... you can interchanges lens and its great for ametuers and pros aswell
