When I first started studying Buddhism, I was encouraged to first read the history of Buddhism. The historical Shakyamuni Buddha even said that we should analyze his teachings and not just accept them first. Even though Buddhism is not generally considered a religion but more of an education, I don't see any blind faith in it.

Well, I can give you a perspective on my faith, ie, Islam.
In this regard, Islam is very different from other religons Its not blind faith at all. We muslims are encouraged by the Quran (if you read the Quran, there are many verses mentioning this) to reason and understand whats written in the Quran. There are many signs which Allah says that only men of understanding will be able to explain. Islam hence is not blind faith at all.
For example, there is a verse in the Quran the summary of which is that " The unbelievers will ask you, how can God recreate them on the day of judgement when they would have been burried so many years in the grave, and only dust would be left of them. Tell them, not only will Allah resurrect them, he will also be able to reproduce the very tip of their fingers"
The scientific fact that each individual has a unique set of finger prints has only recently been established. You can search in google and find out yourself. Things like these are signs for men of understanding.
Another example is that in another verse Allah says that " When the unbelievers would be cast into the Hell-fire and as soon as their skins would be roasted, We shall give them fresh skin so that they shall feel the pain"
Now again the fact that, not only is the brain responsible for the sensation of pain but that there are pain receptors embedded in the skin, was only recently discovered. If the pain receptors get burned as in a deep burn, you feel no pain. Its a test doctors use on patients today to check if the burn is deep or not. How can a scripture 1400 years ago accuratly discribe this. Hence this is among the 1000 signs which the Quran gives for humanity to so that they can know for sure that Quran is the word of GOD. And it is only by reading it and accepting the accuracy did I become a muslim. To say that all these things were incorporated in the Quran later on would be wrong since the orignal copy of the Quran is still present in the Istambul meuseum and it is the same as the one we Muslims read today. Word by word. Many non Muslims researchers also vouch for the fact that Quran has never been altered. Hence I belive because I have seen the signs, not because of blind faith. And I encourage all my non muslim brothers and sisters to also read the Quran atleast once. Just once. For the heck of it. And you will know what i mean. God Bless you all.

Some religions are that way but not all. I am not for religion but only for Jesus. I believe we are free thinkers and we do ask questions that's why we have so many people seeking the truth by going to other churches or religions. I don't put my trust in men but only God. God's word is true because of the evidence of his presence and spiritual blessings that he has given me. I was told to not question, for as the bible goes which I believe as a woman, it is taking out of context.Without faith it is impossible to please God. Ask questions! Read the Bible

Um, more than likely because every religion I've ever heard of states that anyone who questions it is bad/ungodly/will go to hell/is the antichrist, etc.
