I am just curious as to your reason behind oppsing it. Or why the main religious denomination are opposed to it? What are their reasons?

Shouldn't we make an attempt to benefit from medical science and medical research, rather than hinder it?

I'm not opposed to stem cell research as long as they don't kill any living being, such as an unborn child, to take the cell. What I don't understand is why don't they start taking stem cells from adults to do the research. Everyone has them throughout their lives. It's easier to find them in unborn children because they have more cells. But if they can find oil 30,000 ft below the ocean floor, they should be able to find a stem cell in a 300lb person.

i don't see that big deal behind it, the benefits from it out weight the negatives, it can help so many people and better some many lives, what does it matter to you, plus if it was you who that happened to, and if a little research was a matter of life or death how would you feel, and on top of it stem cell research can help find cures to disease that pretty much make you feel like a prisoner in your own body, what right do we have to tell people too bad i don't feel like letting you live, can you honestly live with you, and if you can shame on you

Stem cell research does not farm fetus', stem cells would be harvested from already aboted fetus' of women who were going to do it anyway better than rotting in a dumpster i say, something tht will benefit all man kind, becuase it relates mostly to abortion i would say probably catholics disapprove more, and other neo-christian fanatics

I was until I found out they can take it from the birth of a child ability cord, and it didn't come abortions like I had thought. They can also take a woman menstrual blood for stem cells, so I don't see that any different then giving blood.

I don't think abortions and death and killing of baby's are right for it though, that murder

Its not just religion that opposed, but also includes the Pro-life movment.

Most of the people you will find opposing it are people who believe life begins at conception, so to do research on it, or take a "fetus"/"baby"/zygot apart is against the idea ALL life is sacred, especially the one that can not speak for itself.

Not me, but the point of view they have.

because they are idiots, taking a very few words of questionable scripture completely out of context to suit and justify their own twisted and fundamentalist sense of morality.
