I dont have any elder abuse to report such as scammed, harrased, ignored by family, conned, or lonely sick elders. But, I want to know how to be a friend so I can volunteer myself to those that were hurt. I would like some specific, easy to find links on this subject from anybody who has the info. I live around Sacramento, Ca.

Being from California your state has a state governmental office that handles such issues--I don't know if they take or use volunteers in any way--the only way to know is to contact them and ask---by inquiring with offices connected to the Human Services Dept--you should find some number and someone to talk with at what for the lack of a better title would be close to ---The Dept on Aging ---or Council for the Aged something like that--go and inquire and ----hey--this is an honorable thing you are about to encounter and God will bless you richly for it !!!!

Step one: Find your phone book
Step two: Look in your yellow pages for "nursing homes", "assisted living", and "retirement communities".
Step three: call one of those businesses that you found that caters to the elderly, and volunteer to visit and spend time with the clients.
The best way to help sometimes, is jsut to be there to listen.

stop cutting them off @ intersections, thank them for WW2, & wait for them to count out the pennies @ the register.
