Zhongguo - meaning middle kingdom. It's not an alphabet, they are called hanzi, characters of the Han people, or Chinese.

It is phonic, Han yu pin ying.

China, is written as 中国, in Han yu ping ying, it is spell as Zhong(中) Guo (国).

Zhong Guo means middle kingdom. A phase the Chinese called their motherland, as previously in China, they need no nothing from foreigner, and no need for trading.

They also believe that the world are surrounding them, and they are in the middle.
