Call and make an appointment with your local health department and they should have information about how and where you can get help. Some therapists charge very little for their patients that cannot afford treatments and some drug companies give large discounts or even free medications to patients that do not have any insurance coverage. Please keep trying. It is sometimes hard to find psychiatrists that will take you as a patient even it you have insurance since there is a shortage in some areas of the country. Many communities have help groups that you can attend and talk to others with similar problems. Other members of the group may have some of the same problems that you are experiencing and may have suggestions on how you can get additional help. Please get the help that you deserve. All mental health disorders are treatable. Keep trying and don't give up because you are worth it!

Great answer Paula.. when the time comes .. you get my mouseclick :)
I have bipolar disorder and I really don't know how anybody can make a claim that yoga and meditation are the only cure for what ails them. But you may fit into their boat, so to speak. I would give this a try. if you have internet access there are plenty of sites to show you how this can be done.
Medication is the only thing that has helped me.
There is no cure for Bipolar Disorder and it is well documented that if treatment is not implemented the affliction worsens dramatically over time in most people.. the episodes of up and down increase in severity and sometimes lenghten in duration or have smaller breaks in between cycles.. I seriously suggest getting yourself in to see a doctor.. free health care is available to those with a documented need for it and mental illness is not something to be ashamed of. I did not choose this. The same goes for you. Pick your head up and get yourself some qualified help. Not having financial means is not a reason to go untreated.

Here is the best advice you will ever get. Pray, eat wholesome food, take a quality multi-vitamin/mineral and drink tons of pure water (not city water) filtered water or good well water! Seriously I was diagnosed w/ Bi-polar, manic-depression and Post traumatic stress disorder over the years. The pills made everything worse but this last year has been the best year of my life! Don't trust a doctor unless you KNOW they care about you. Most are quacks looking to make $$$$$$$$

At least you realize that you need help which is a good sign. There are medications that can help you with that problem. Can you go to a clinic in your area or call up a mental hospital and see what you can do to qualify for their service. I have a mother-in-law and sister that are on meds for the same problem. Good luck
