Didn't our government back then said this country needed those illegals to do the jobs that americans wouldn't do,the problem then was that as soon as they were given amnesty they left those jobs before the ink on the amnesty bill dried out,and had to be replaced with new illegals. Now George W Bush and the town drunk Ted Kennedy which was around back then are giving us the same crap, only now it will be 4 times the number and that's not counting the families they plan to bring.how long will it take before this stupid senate gets it

That's why this new bill was so flawed because the reality is, once amnesty is granted A) if your employer keeps you (don't forget this a huge part of the prob too) he has to start filing your wages with the IRS and he's hit with a big tax bill, B) You start paying taxes and the money isn't near what it was when you were paid under the table, and if you have provable income you're no longer eligible for the free medical benefits that we are currently paying for. And as much as everyone wants to blame the Democrats on this one, Republicans are every bit as much to blame because the Agriculture industry (the 2nd biggest industry in this nation!) is their bread a butter. If you remember back to May when this was the huge debate it was the Repubs that were making all the noise, Democrats were being kind of stupidly mute (and it would have been a really good time for them to take the lead on stopping this nonsense of illegal immigration)

I'm with you. Do what they just did in TX. Round 'em up and Send 'em home. Illegal is illegal is illegal. Let them do it by the law, by the numbers.
P.S. And, lose the Mexican flag guys or go back to Mexico and change your own govt. so you can stay there. Figure out why there is no money there and you will be led to the ones that are benefitting from all the hard labor done in Mexico - right up to the top of the food chain I bet. Change your laws so politicians can be thrown out of office and prosecuted for using those tax dollars personally. Now you can't say that in Mexico or anywhere in Central or South America, can you????? Go home where you have been sending your money you earn here, get a real Visa, if you qualify, and try to do it right if you want to be here. If you follow the system, we actually will welcome you. Jobs are gonna dry up real soon when businesses in the US are held accountable for your papers being in order.

Personally, I don't understand Ted Kennedy. He represents only Vermont - I am certain they don't have a problem with illegals there. There's hardly any people there at all. He needs to remember his past and that the only reason he is where he is is because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He definitely bought his way out of some serious trouble (or his daddy did)- now his son is paying though for a similar incident but no one was killed in his wreck. My, how times have changed - the son is having to pay his debt and follow the rules. Bet Ted never even drives and has a full-time driver...maybe even court-ordered.

They and others who forged documents pretending to be qualified got amnesty, brought in family through 'chain immigration' provisions allowing legal immigrants to bring their family, and apparently encouraged (if only by example) other illegal immigrants to come wait for 'the next amnesty'.

There quickly became so many they created a huge underground economy providing fake identification, much of it stolen from others.

Chain immigration is a real problem since it would be allowed under the Senate Bill for both the illegals here to bring in absent family and for the guest workers. The 200,000 per year unskilled workers and 1.5 million unskilled agricultural workers in the bill are quotas that grow by 20% per year, and then they can all have a path to citizenship and ability to bring in their families. Once they are citizens that family allowed in includes indigent parents, at a time when we don't know how the baby boomers are going to be able to retire. And given history and the many specific education and healthcare benefits to illegals, who really thinks they will wait to bring family in?

Particularly since the bill has a 10 year statute of limitations in it which would permit illegals to be legalized if they stay 10 years (or provide forged documents indicating they stayed for 10 years?)

Meanwhile the Senate Bill is NOT a border security bill. Today we can build all the barriers on our southern border that we want. Under the Senate Bill we would not be able to do that until after we consult with Mexico and have a huge study of how the barriers might impact our diplomatic relations with Mexico, and how it might impact anything you can think of.

You ought to read the crap the the Hispanic Caucus is dishing out. If you think Kennedy and Bush are full of it, catch Congressman Ortiz's act.

Pardoning foreign criminals is not a deterrent to others of the same stripe. Kennedy and Ortiz just want instant Democrats. Bush is trying to suck up to mexicans. They would all sell out the country for one more term in office.

Most are probably card carrying Democrats (usually until they make some good money). Dems just can't get enough of those newbies looking for government hand-outs.

The U.S. is known the world over as suckers. Millions take advantage of our generosity every year through fraud and deception. Word of mouth spreads and they come. They know we are an easy mark.

What happened to them, they brought over their families. Then, they encouraged others to follow suit so they could all be one big amnesty loving family. Sine they were no longer illegal, they started demanding higher wages and better working conditions. Corporations then needed new illegals. This is why it is not good to award law breakers, you are just encouraging them to do it again.

Your right-things just keep getting worst.

And I still want to slap Kennedy or punch him! Every day it is an obsession ever since you brought his name up in an earlier post.

They can all be deported and Kennedy can drive.
