Your first stop should be to find out the legalities of it in your state. Check this site (http://www.hslda.org) and look up what your state requires.

You might then check out the library for books on homeschooling (I'd recommend "The Well-Trained Mind" by Jessie Wise and Susan Wise-Bauer).

There is a group called "Smoothing The Way" that is for beginning homeschoolers and it's a really great group.
