What did you do to get over it? How can you ever love again and be there for your child in a new relationship?

We all have that idea that we will be with the person we share a child with and continue on as a family unit. Obviously it doesn't work out that way.
It happened with me, and initially I was devastated. I'm thinking why couldn't he be there for me and our child? It upset me to no end, and it hurt worse knowing that he had moved on with his life and was dating. And here I am, wondering who the hell would want me with a brand new baby? Then I met this great guy who accepted everything about me, child and all.
The ironic thing is this: although there was a point in my life where I thought I should totally be with my child's father, I realize now that it would have been the most disasterous relationship in the world.
What you need to do is grieve the loss of your relationship. By doing that, you are freeing your heart and mind. This will allow you to open yourself up to new opportunities and new love :) Regardless of who you date or who you fall in love with, you will always, and I mean, always be there for your child. You need to make it clear to any potential mates that your primary focus is your child. If they cannot accept that or understand it, you need to find someone that is.
I feel for you. In time, the pain will be less and less, and at some point, you'll realize this was all for the best. I wish you good luck.

Yep, been there. You just go on. You have to be there for your baby/babies and do what you can. Just know there is hope and you will find someone who will love you and your baby. Good luck.
