Sounds like they are going to have an interesting relationship. The fact that he is so much younger might be a problem later on, and the fact that he's from another country might also create a cultural divide. Is he marrying her just to get citizenship?

I think that if love is blind, that friendship closes its eyes and lust makes us hallucinate.

She is obviously not stable enough to be making a decision about marriage in the early stages of this 'relationship'. She sounds like she may suffer from borderline personality disorder (http://www.bpdcentral.com/ ) .

This person is not making a wise decision. I do not think anyone should get married to help someone stay here. He should do whatever it takes legally on his own to find a way to stay here so that they can develop their relationship and then marry her when he is a citizen to prove to her he is not into her just for the green card so to speak.

She is vulnerable as an older, single mom who has had unstable relationships and is dysfunctional in her sex life. He is sharp enough to know how to prey on this and take advantage of this in her. It is sad. It will not work out. It is enevitable. If you care for this person at all - it is your obligation to tell her the way you see it and warn her you are worried she is heading for hurt and devastation. It is hard enough to be a single mom without being divorced multiple times. And if he has any debts or problems of his own - she will inherit them once her name is tied to his. Also she may be investigated by the INS for fraud if the marriage is a sham in their eyes.

I think it is a marriage of convenience. He needs her as a wife to enable his coming here and establishing a residence, she probably is in need of support for her kid! It'll never last!

Sounds like they're getting married for a green card and probably it's none of your business.

Stay out of it.... obviously they both will be getting something out of it and will not likely appreciate you saying anything about it. Good luck.
