Otherwise, do I need LASIK to correct the focus in my left eye?

No, I do the same thing but what ended up happening with me it became blurrier. My right eye is weaker than my left eye now. So I have to use glasses to correct it. Lazy eye simply means that you have a wandering eye. To correct a wandering or lazy eye the optometrist will prescribe you lenses with prism. Don't do LASIK! You'll end up needing glasses anyway in the long run when you turn 40+ you become presbiopic. (AKA you pull your paper away to read and feel that you need longer arms) Depending on how bad your eyesight is then your Optometrist will help you decide if LASIK is for you.

Consult with an Ophthalmologist. They can give you the best answer. There are teats that need to be done to give you the best answer. Don't listen to opticians or optometrists. Their job is to sell glasses and contact lenses. You will need reading glasses after the age of 40-45 but will need them whether or not you have LASIK. A lazy or amblyopic eye is an eye that for on reason or another does not, and cannot see as good as the other eye. It is not something that prisms can correct. Prisms are for patients that have muscle imbalance problems in one eye and the eye turns in or out. Prisms can help with that but not amblyopia.

PS LASIK complications are not high as a previous person stated. They are relatively low considering the number of surgeries done a year.

no, it means one eye needs correction. Lazy eye is a specific diagnosis dealing with poor eyesight, usually diagnosed in kids..ie. one eye may venture away from the intended focus. Lasik may cure myopia, but so do contacts or glasses. If it's not that bad, I would not risk my eyesight...Lasik complications are quite high.

yes. Although Lasik is expensive, it should fix the problem though. Might want to consult with an eye doctor to be sure.

It can mean one eye has worse vision, or that your right eye is much more dominant over the left than it is for most people.

a lazy eye is where one is isnt proportioned with the other eye.

lasik would correct the poor eyesite, but so would glasses or contacts if your nervous :)
