why would you have been asleep for three days prior to the elective surgery???? and then attribute it to anesthesia???? I think you are a bit confused about the process. Anesthesia comes in different forms. Most today use a gas that clears in minutes when it is discontinued and the patient wakes up. There can be some side affects from anesthesia, but not being asleep 3 days unless you lapsed into a coma......ask your DR to explain, that's what you paid for!

Nitrous oxide and oxygen are mixed and administered as a general anesthetic for most surgeries. Before anesthesia they give a sedative (injectable)for relaxing the mind and remove tension. After anesthesia they give d-tubocurarine as a muscle relaxant to facilitate smooth opening of abdomen or any part..After surgery they give no special medicine for recovery which is spontaneous.Injectable antibiotics are given to prevent or treat any infections.

No meds to reverse it. Constant doses keep you under. Once they stop giving you meds, you wake up. It's just a matter of time.
