Because of the difference in maturity levels. A 14 year old dating a 10 year old is like a hormone crazed boy dating a pre-puberty girl. Not good.

If you are 18. Their is a law that says you can't have sexual relations with a minor Or you go to jail. At 18 you are an adult by what law states. Any one below you not is a minor. So date who ever just be careful because a parent of the younger person can put you in jail. That is why people say no. Just stay way. You don't want the black and white out fit. That is the big deal. Now you know. Make you own decision and good luck !

I'd say it's not just because of people making fun of you er whatever, but I think mostly, the older person is thinking about careers and such-college er w/e. The person 4 years younger isn't really quite thinking 'bout that-they're just out to have fun, ya know? :o)

because it is ILLEGAL to date minors. they are called minors because they are still children. no matter how you put it.
