Cat nip is your answer to this question.
Place just a little cat nip near you and watch your cat play and after doing this a few times a week your cat will come up to you as if you are best buddies. But remember to place just a little bit out at a time and only 2 or 3 times a week for up to two weeks if that long and you'll be surprised at your new best friend.

Ignore him/her and go about your business; it will drive them crazy to want to get your attention and then ease into it.
Standing on your head and picking a banjo would be pretty impressive but, it sounds like for a feline fix, it would be a cat-astrophe. ;-)

Put her outside all the time, feed her twice a day. She'll be impressed at feeding time. Worked for me. I was stuck with the cat when my youngest gave her to me for fathers day 2 years ago. This arrangement seems to work well.

LOL.....this is funny. "Kat" wants to impress her "cat". Try doing a little dance. Ok......just kidding. Well seriously speaking now, you can try buying him/her a toy and I'm sure you cat will be impressed. I know you're probably already feeding and pampering your cat, but you have you bought him/her any toy? If not then give it a shot. Good luck!

why should YOU be trying to impress the cat? shouldn't it be the other way around?
try not feeding it for a while... when the food dish gets filled, the cat will be damn impressed.
how odd...
