I am transgendered but havent had my full surgery to become a woman yet. I took hormones to grow breasts but I am still a man where it counts. But I look and dress like a woman. Which restroom should I use? I do still have a mans equipment, and I do still pee standing up. The urinals in the mens room are so convenient but it seems to cause such a stir! Would it be wrong to use the ladies?

Wow alot of really really good answers. I tried to give someone best answer points but it keeps telling me I must wait 24 hours before I can. But it has been 24 hours. hmm. I will wait some more and try to choose a best answer again tomorrow. sorry about that. seems to be glitchy.

This is actually a really good question, and something that trans-genders deal with all the time as I'm sure you know. i go to a very progressive college, and all of the single bathrooms are designated for this reason, except for the ones in the library, there is something in the specifications that the person who donated the library but in that they have to be designated, big scandal, anyway, back to your question. i would say go ahead and use the ladies. you'll probably feel more comfortable, even though you don't have the luxury of a urinal. just be careful not to pee on the seat, we don't like that.

If you consider yourself a women, and feel and act like a woman, that it shouldn't matter what "equipment" you have still. Even if you haven't had your surgery yet i would make more sense as a woman to use the woman's bathroom. I think you should go ahead and use the woman's. There is privacy in the woman's, and no woman will know what you have or don't whereas the men's bathroom as you said can cause a scene and gives you no privacy. Embrace your "womanhood" and use the lady's room.

My advice is use the ladies' room. It's less likely that the women will notice since you'll use a stall. In the men's room they'll see a woman walking in and might get uncomfortable with that, plus they'll probably freak out when they see you have a man's equipment.
The urinals may be convenient, but you better get used to using a stall for peeing. Soon that will be your only option.

I have an uncle who is doing the same thind you are. For the longest time, before the hormones, he would use the ladies room. Now that he has breasts and more femmie features, it comes as no problem. You should too, so that you are completely used to it by the time you are fully female.
And good luck with your new life.

If you really look like a woman, go to the ladies room, just when you go pee, stand facing toward the door, so nobody gets freaked.

You're probably safer using the women's restroom. If I were a guy and saw some transvestite or whatever in the men's room, I'd probably beat the crap outta you. So, women are probably a safer bunch to pee with. However, we just ask that you sit down and for God's sake keep the damn seat down!!!

I guess if your outward appearance is a woman, then I'd say use the women's room. You still get the privacy of your own stall and won't get funny looks from men in the men's room.
(I would recommend sitting down to pee though!)
Tough predicament.

Now if you want to be a woman then you have to be a woman. Real women don't get the convenience of "standing up" to pee.

Just use the women's restroom and sit down when you pee. If the restroom doesn't have stalls with doors then just adjust your makeup and leave for another restroom. The main point is as long as no one knows the difference then no one will get offended. huh

I think you should use the ladies room and sit down to pee. You are supposed to be living as a woman, now, and you will not have to explain yourself in the women's room.
