Yes it is 100% completely safe. When people get radiation therapy, the xray beam is targeted at their cancer. Cancer cells hopefully get messed up by the xray particles enough that they die off. After the beam is turned off, the remaining particles scatter off and disappear. So after treatment, this person is not radioactive. There is a different radiation procedure where the person IS radioactive, but then the hospital will keep them essentially quarantined while they are radioactive.
Secondly, at 8 months, the formation of all the organs of the fetus is complete -- from then until delivery, the fetus just grows bigger. At 8months pregnant, you could still get xrays taken and not affect the baby, although most hospitals play it super safe and avoid it altogether.

You mean be in the presence of someone who has been having radiation treatments? Yes, it's OK; the radiation doesn't linger on the body.
Specifically, from a cancer site:
Unless radioactive substances are actually placed in the body, as in the case of radioactive implants, the radiation is gone from your body as soon as the machine is stopped at the end of your treatment. Neither you nor the treated part of your body becomes radioactive. You will not be dangerous to your surroundings or to the people close to you.

Depends on the radiation treatment. If the radiation source is inside the cancer patient's body then there is risk. Radiation treatments outside the body in a doctor's office or hospital pose no risk. However, with a baby and piece of mind, consult your doctor. I believe there are so many more toxins "floating" around than there used to be. It is never wrong to be extra cautious.

As long as you aren't in the room where the radiation is being performed you are ok. And I wouldn't think they would allow you in there in that condition anyway. But, just being around someone who is undergoing this radiation shouldn't be a problem.

hmmmmmmmm. I think it ok to be around someone that has been through the radiation process, but not in the room where the radiation is taking place, but im sure by now you had your baby and everything is fine. :)

Yes. They are exposed to low levels of radiation to try and kill the cancer cells. It is impossible for their cells to absorb radiation and then re-emit it for you to absorb. You and the baby are in no danger what so ever.

do they have an implanted radiation device like seeds, or are they going somewhere to have the radiation done?
if they have seeds, yes, it is something to worry about (your baby is 5 months out of the defect time where something could go wrong, but less radiation exposure is better)
remember though, if they do have an implanted source...TIME, SHIELDING & DISTANCE.
Less time, wear lead, and stay away...this will limit your exposure
