Jesus WAS Jewish... his parents took him to Temple to celebrate Passover, and he was hanging out there the time his parents "lost" him and got all panicky.... He also mostly was preaching good works and kindness. He didn't get into trouble until the size of his following, combined with the attack on the Temple moneychangers, alarmed the Roman government. The Sanhedrin at the time were Roman appointees and sycophants, and King Herod was NOT a Jew, but a Syrian appointed by Rome to act as "local" royal authority. Rome became concerned that this preacher of "peace" might really cause a general uprising, and crucified him, as they did all revolutionaries.

When Jesus did not fullfil the Jewish definition of Messiah, bringing freedom to the Jewish people and peace to the land of Israel, those few Jews who held out for his return ended up going back to regular Judaism within the first century after his death.

Paul took the story of Jesus and found in it a way to start a new religion and build a social following for himself. He needed to turn to Gentiles, because the Jews were fast rejecting the whole idea of Jesus as a messiah by that point. Gentiles were reluctant to get circumsized or follow the rigorous Jewish dietary laws, so Paul had "dreams" to get rid of most Jewish law, while maintaining the idea of this Jewish rabbi as a "savior." When the Roman Empire adopted Christianity in the 400's as a way of bringing in something new to unify a shaky political situation (the whole Christian concept of obedience to authority was heavily emphasized), Rome had to distance itself from the execution (crucifixion was a Roman punishment, not a Jewish one), and the Christian faith itself from Jewishness in order to maintain that separate identity. Roman leaders did NOT want their Christian subjects asking questions about Judaism or converting fully to Judaism. Because of the strong presence of Jewish history in Christian stories, combined with the Jewish refugees as outsiders after the destruction of the Temple, Jews became a natural scapegoat. Rome also decided to focus more on Paul's teachings than on Jesus himself, and rejected any scripture in use at the time that emphasized Jesus as a man, and a Jew. As time progressed, and Rome both conquered and forced the conversion of many European tribes, additional pagan elements were incorporated to smoothe the transition of these peoples into Christian practices.

This separation, as well as the heavy focus on removing the blame for the crucifixion from Rome, increased anti-semitism, such as what is seen above with the Jesus being Jewish by ethnicity but not by faith business above.

Christianity is Greco-Roman dying-god as bringer of life concepts, grafted (rather painfully and shakily) onto Jewish-origin monothiestic concepts so as to attempt to justify worship of a Jewish man.

The Jewish people are God's people. They will always be God's people. Jesus originally came here for the Jews, but they rejected him. So he turned to the Gentiles (non Jews). He also changed the rules a bit(too much to explain read the New Testament) Then he was sacrificed for the sins of the world. If he was never rejected there would be no Christians, only Jewish converts.

Catholic theology teaches that Catholicism is the fulfillment of Judaism, so there is continuity between Catholicism and Judaism. Judaism of today is the branch that was broken off and that someday will be grafted back on to the living community of God.

Jewish converts to Catholicism do not consider themselves to be "less Jewish" but rather "more Jewish". This was the case for the early Church as well as today.

"Salvation is From the Jews" by Roy Schoeman a Jew who became Catholic.

One least confusing has to seem to the bible to appreciate this. the sparkling testomony contains better than in reality a average criticism of the Jews. in truth, it really is particularly anti-Jewish. that's authentic that some Christians seem after that the sparkling testomony attack on the Jews is fairly average. yet, how mild is the "bloody fee," an announcement that places upon the Jews guilt for the full righteous blood ever shed upon the earth (Matthew 23:35), or a spurious self-condemnation wherein the Jewish persons supposedly take upon themselves and their offspring an eternal blame for the shortcoming of existence of Jesus (Matthew 27:25), or a assertion that the Jews are the youngsters of the devil (John 8:40 4) and that the Jews are a "synagogue of devil" (Revelation 2:9, 3:9). Paul summed up the denunciation of the Jews with the inflammatory statement that the Jews are "adverse to all adult men" (a million Thessalonians 2:15). the sparkling testomony replaced into once written by ability of way of-and-tremendous for Gentiles and institutionalized an anti-Judaic topic for its visitors. It distorted and fictionalized activities with a purpose to portray the Jews, all Jews who do no longer accept Jesus, as evil and in charge for his lack of life. the thoughts-set of the recent testomony authors in the route of the Jews is amazingly sparkling. the recent testomony references pork up this truth: Matthew 8:12 Jews solid into outer darkness Matthew 23:37,38 Jerusalem killed the prophets Mark 13:9 in synagogues you'd be beaten John 8:40 3, 40 seven you're of your father, the devil...you're not any more of G-d Acts 7:51-fifty 3 persecute prophets; betrayers & murderers Acts 13:40 5-51 Jews reject understand G-d, so turn to Gentiles Titus a million:10-14 they of circumcision...could be stopped John 16:2, 3 whoever kills you'll evaluate he does G-d a service Matthew 8:10-12 childrens of kingdom solid into outer darkness Luke 20:9-16, Matt 13:36-40 3, and Luke 19:12-27 are parables which communicate of Gentiles inheriting the dominion of Heaven at the same time Jews are solid into Hell.

So let's see... everything begun about 20000 or 30000 years ago, when the last ice age was over with. All humans on the planet, about 2 to 5 thousand of them, lived in what is today Kalahari Desert in Southeast Africa... later on those guys spread all over the planet and, as they didn't have any means of communication (like we do today), they independently developed different languages, cultures, religions, jokes, styles and what not... As time went by they also developed genetic features to cover for different climate conditions and other life related surroundings.

So, what I am saying is, all humans are the same, and if they think they're different from each other, than they are veeery wrong. Therefore in my opinion all muslims, christians, jews, budhists, eskimos and whatever people are ONE and the same HUMAN race. Establishing any differences leads to hatred and destruction.

And now stop asking silly questions and go to work.

Jesus was as much a Jew as is someone who simply has Jewish ancestry and doesn't practice the Jewish faith. Yes, Jesus was born a Jew to Jewish parents, but as he continued to preach the Christian faith and such, he obviously became a Christian. So maybe some of the Christians in the world stemming from Jesus' times have some Hebrew ancestry, but they are not Jews.

I'm not interested in being the best answer - just interested in answering.

Jesus offered or extended Salvation to ALL people - Jews and Gentiles (Non Jews). Add to that by accepting Jesus as savior we are also adopted. So I guess in a way..., you could say Christians are Jewish.

The answer is really quite simple.

Jesus said he came not to destroy the Law of Moses but to fufill them. He also told us to follow him that is follow his perfect example because he never sinned and obeyed the Law to the letter.

Why are we not Jews then? Because we are Gentiles.

There are other Jewish followers of Jesus though. Look up Messianic Jews.

But typically Christians believe Judaism and what the Old Testament have to say are two different things. So in other words Judaism is a false religion. Jesus was the Messiah and they missed his visitation.

First let me say this. There is absolutely nothing wrong in being a true descendant from the tribe of Judah. Note the word true.
As I am sure you are aware of this, Jesus spoke of the race of people that slipped in and pretend to be of the tribe of Judah but in all reality they are of the tribe of Satan. They are called Kenites.

Secondly, I take offense to the letters you use that show us Christians and future Christians how immature you are. Letters like WTF; JEW; and the long list of letters that follow "Seriously".

Thirdly,You make it sound like this is some kind of a game with your comment, "Unless your answer is really funny".

Now, if you took the time to read this this far I will try to answer your question.

Answer: Jacob whose name was changed to Israel begat twelve sons, and one of them was named Judah. I will list for you all in order of their birth below.

Reuben; Simeon; Levi; Judah; Dan; Naphtali; Gad; Asher; Issachar; Zebulum; Joseph; Benjamin.

Jacob also had a daughter named Dinah.

Now if you study real hard you will find that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was desended from the tribe of Levi and the tribe of Judah. Hence, He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

Its wonderful what God's Holy Spirit will reveal to you when you are in His Will.

Also, I know for a fact that there is not one true Christ man or woman on the planet today that looks down on any person from any tribe or family of peoples.

You and people like you are in my prayers daily.

Being a Jewish His teachings were his own.
He offended the life style that Jewish eople lived.
He wanted to save the Jewish people from sin.
He thaught the Jewish people the virtues of life & about Good & bad of what they did.
And now the beleivers who received the words from Jesus and liked HIS teachings& walked in HIS way they called themselves Christians means CHRIST Like. CHRIST-IANS. Means in Jesus Christ & Like Christ.
I hope u got it.
Well this topic needs to go more deep which is a very vast topic.

The first Christians were Jews. The Apostles were Jews. First they went to other Jews, then went to the Gentiles. Many Jews still don't believe he was their Messiah prophesied about.
