Don't use diet pills. They can mess up his metabolism more.

Recommend to him a detox and colonic. Start with a magnesium citrate laxative and have him fast for a few days (only after talking to a doctor). His stomach will start to shirnk a bit.

After the detox/fasting, then he can start to retrain his dietary habits.

A pill is never the answer to healthy eating. Do some research. If you go to www.foodpyramid.com, there are different links for various diets, but please remember, your friend's best options are to back away from the table, cut his portions way down, eat more fruit and if at all possible, to start walking a little bit. Do this consistently and as his legs get stronger, he will start to feel better and thus, do more. Eventually he will want to expand his routine. For example, walk one mile 3 times a week and work with weights the other 2 days. Obese people shouldn't start out fast...guaranteed way to fail if they do. So remind him to take it nice and easy

Check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program.

Anyone who attempts to lose weight by reducing calorie consumption experiences feelings of hunger and fatigue. Hoodia diet pills attempt to reduce those feelings, making it easier to stick to a low calorie diet and therefore lose weight. As with any weight loss plan, only people who are in good health should use hoodia diet pills and they should be used in conjunction with appropriate diet and exercise. Because thirst is suppressed as well as appetite, it is important to remember to drink plenty of water. Most experts recommend eight 8 ounce glasses per day to maintain proper hydration. Other than thirst suppression, there are no known side effects associated with hoodia diet pills and they are probably a much better choice than diet pills containing stimulants.

I tried Hoodia and......
Hoodia has worked for me...and with no side effects.

For all you doubters, here is the prior feedback for another Answers user who followed my advice:

Asker's Rating: *****
very good comment i lost 2 lbs in a week
i think i can almost get in my leather dress, i can hit the town in no time

**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ---

#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia...look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!

#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!

#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.

#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!

Hoodia (HOOD-ee-uh) gordonii - A genus of 10 to 20 species from southwestern Africa.
Hoodia gordonii is the stoneage wonder plant found throughout the dry arid regions of the South western African continent now on the verge of making history in the fight against obesity. It is a genus belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family which consists of approximately 20 species. Used to stop hunger, quench thirst, and provide energy among other things since prehistoric times, Hoodia gordonii was first discovered by the San tribesmen and women to get through the most difficult of times.

I suggest diet and exercise first. A person can take the BEST diet pill in the world and not change eating habits and no matter what, they will NOT lose weight. Lifestyle changes first, then if needed help to maintain then consider supplements. Suggest that he go to his doctor and with his/her help they can work out the best diet/exercise program that's best for his needs and goals.

Diet pills alone will not make a person lose weight safely. He needs a food intake and excercise program set up to do this successfully. He needs to burn those calories off as well as getting the old heart to working.

ok , frankly speaking there are many pills , but effective and most promising without side effects is no-one, some of them disturbs the satiety centre in the hypothalamus and thus creates long term dietery intake problems, some doesnot allow to absorb dietery carbohydrates leading to malnutrition , the best one would be the one which depress the hunger, there are few consisting of Hoodia plant, discovered in african desert, after eating that hunger gets depressed, but be careful as most of the drugs enlists this plant as one of its constituents but actually there is nothing,
the best way is to decrease the input especially the simple sugars and increase the out put by exercise, and remember that in this there will be no shortcut and one should only hope for loss of weight upto twenty pounds per year.

um i don't think that diet pills would be the best and certainly not the healthiest for your body. they just probably don't even work correctly and may cause harm to other things in your body. the best way to lose weight is by the eating healthy, not too much, and excercising a lot. tell him to try it and he'll see that soon the pounds will start coming right off.

Skip the diet pill. They are nothing but trouble a lot of them have crystal meth in them. (friend of mine was on them was subjected to random drug check through the company and tested positive) I have given a link below which is a dr prescribed diet that will help and its easier then hell to stick to. No fad just what they use for heart patients who need to loose a few before surgery. Myself and a friend (guy) used it and lost 200lbs between us

Your friend should get a weight loss surgery if he is very obese.Gastric Bypass Surgery /gastrectomy/stomach stapling /lapband (all types of weight loss surgery) is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your lobesity surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her obesity surgery after delivery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She has lost 65lbs in 5 months. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.hope this helps
