Why would I superimpose that definition of him when the text that tells me of his existence does not? It my be convenient for me to lower him to mere mortal but my opinion or comfort doesn't mean squat. The Bible, the source of our knowledge of Christ tells us he was Both God and Man. YOu don't have a problem with the sermon on the mount, but while we are just editing the Bible at random, lets change the Sermon to glorify selfishness and putting others down to get ahead. See, if you liberalize one Biblical teaching, others can follow. This is how heresys start. Egos take over doctrine and the next thing you know--BOOM we are having an inquisition again. Liberalizing scripture is dangerous. Christ Was God and Man

Logic does tell me Jesus was more. I was an athiest for many, many years. But I was always shaky and questioned myself. When I accepted Jesus, I knew it was true and have never had to question my beliefe in him.
So sorry but logic tells me he is more than just a man, much more.

Logic ! how about what the bible says, 1 John chapter 4 verse 1,2,3 = Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God ; because many false prophets are gone out into the world . Hereby know ye the spirit of God : Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God : And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God :and this is that spirit of an'-ti-christ , whereof ye have heard that it shall come ; and even now already is it in the world .... this is not logic it is written , who are we to worship , Revelation chapter 19 verse 10 , the spirit came to Jesus , just as the spirit comes to us , we are also called the sons and daughters of God when we walk in his words , just as Jesus did ..!

Logic tell me that you don't understand what you are reading, or you don't know how to read. The bible tells you that Jesus was not just a man.He is (not was) the son of our father. What I don't understand is that you know-it-all people didn't know that. Why can't y'all, that right I said y'all people find something else to bad mouth about. Isn't it bad enough what y'all none believers did to him the last time he was here.

Just read "More Than A Carpenter" by Josh McDowell. Or "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by the same author. He spent many years of his life trying to prove Christianity wrong.

sex is just a method to difference woman and men...actually they are the same like Jesus...
if youhave strong feel means men
if you have soft feel means women
but in logical, a human may have both feelings, so this can measure in their degree of feelings..Similar, Jesus not only have a strong feeling to found a good religion, but also have a soft feeling to teach their students...so we say Jesus not just a man

I just began my walk with Christ and this question kinda had me stumped. but i really do believe that Jesus was the son of God and not just a man. Take his disciples for instance, facts says there really were twelve disciples (like the bible says) and that all but one died horrible deaths preaching the word of god ( for example, one disciple was thrown off a 100 ft cliff, and when he was discovered still alive, his killers beat him to death with a club). so when i think about this question, i ask myself, why would these men die like they did if they didn't believe Jesus was who he said he was.
