To rotate between lifting free weights and walking the trend mill, is there any other routines I should do? I walk and cycle, swimming laps, anything would be appriciated.

Thxs!! :~)

Hi it sounds like you have a solid cardiovascular program going. Have you looked into purchasing a heart rate monitor?
When starting out lifting I always tell my clients lift moderately. Lift what you feel gives you a solid feeling. If you feel like your wimping out you probably are. If you feel like your arms going to fall off on the first day I'm betting your lifting to heavy. The goal is to build a varying routine that your body has trouble adapting to. While not killing yourself so you'll come back tomorrow. This type of lifting will burn more calories, as well as help you gain strength and power faster. Id suggest you look at the book The New Rules of Lifting. The have detailed workouts for any level of lifter, even the most novice. It has picture diagrams of all of its exercises and most importantly its workouts vary so your not just doing chest press and arm curls all the time. I hope this helps. Good luck!

It really depends on what your starting point is. Lift what you feel comfortable with. It should be hard, but it shouldn't hurt.
