I think, to be completely honest, SOME Christians are putting a bad name on other Christians. You go into any christian chat room and you get nothing but name calling, hostility, and the ultimate in self-righteousness.
That being said, people will be people. They will try to discredit anything they don't understand or that they frankly hate. I'm not going to say, don't be insulted, because that would "insult" your very feelings on the topic, but I will say this...try not to care what other people say. People can be idiotic, cruel, and ignorant. That is human nature...whether it is insulting or not.

Why does it bother you? For everything they say or question there is an answer. They cannot argue with the Truth.
Seeing peoples response why is it that we are the only ones pushing faiths onto others? If you believe something with your whole heart and you see other people not, do you not want to change their minds? People who argue evolution for example, do they not push their ideas by not teaching anything else, petitioning, instructing students how there is no other explanation that this theory that cannot be proved but is believed by faith that it is real and is the reason we are humans today pushed on others who do not believe the same thing. If you "dont care about others" you still push that on people to stop caring, no matter your stance it is human nature to get people on your side. It is not only Christians.

Why are you insulted? What do you care what others say? You have your beleaf system, others have theirs. Listen, it shouldn't bother you what anyone says about your religion. It is yours, right? Not theirs, so they have little reason to have any respect for something they do not believe in. I am a christian, yet do not get insulted when somebody has somthing negitive to say about my beleafs. These are MY beleafs, not theirs, so I do not expect them to care about them. I care about them and this is all which matters to me. I do not need everybody, or anyone, validating my beleafs. If I did, then I would not be very strong in those beleafs. It just simply does not matter what anyone else thinks. Which is why each individual needs to find what is right, true, and works for them. This is a very individual path. Even those within the same religion will not agree on everything. I do not need anyone "guiding" me in my beleafs, if I did, well they would not be MY beleafs but the person who is "guiding" them. You see? If I were the only person to beleave how I do, I would not stop my beleafs. It is not about any others here, it about each single individual finding what they beleave, what works for them. I would like to make a suggestion. Try not to take what others say personaly. What they are saying are their ideas, their personal experiance, and they have as much right to say what those are as we christians do. Which is why freedom of speach is so important. We do not have any right to stop others from thinking, feeling, or saying that which is true for them. Sometimes people will feel one way and as they grow their feelings or thoughts on a subject will change. This does not mean they did not feel strongly about what ever it was back then, nor does it mean they will agree with you now, it only means we are all learning, experiancing life, growing. Which is the whole purpose of life in the first place. To learn and grow. Hold on to your own beleafs and stop worrying so much what others beleave. These are your own perosnal beleafs and you have a right to them, same as any other child of God on this earth. Wether or not they beleave they are a child of God or not is moot. Good luck and God bless and keep you.

Probably because the public face (Pat Robertson, John Hagee, Jerry Falwell, et al x 1000) of Christianity is more like the Taliban or a hate group than anything else.

They want us to tolerate everything. And they can't take it if we bite back a little bit. I put one on the other day, and half of the folks came unglued and accused me of not being a christian. They will say all sorts of bad things about Jesus and use foul language, but we are supposed to smile and take it. It was John the Baptist that called the Farisees a bunch of snakes. anyway, don't worry about it. It is normal for them and they don't know any better. I get a kick out of some of them that even ask to be sent to hell.
They say that we are unscientific, and they go to all sorts of extremes to prove evolution which says that they evolved from monkeys. They fight to make themselves monkeys?? I don't know why but they do it all the time. They are kind of cute when they get going and trying to convince themselves that they are monkeys.. I just shake my head.

People will complain about anything! Many people are not particular about what they say or what they condemn. But you should never feel offended...even Christ said "Love thy enemies & pray for those that spitefully use or abuse you" If you feel insulted then you should rethink your own ideals of religion & focus more on your relationship with Jesus Christ. (He said if they hated the Master how much more will they hate His servants?) Pray that the Lord will give you a more patient heart!

Well, you probably think it is because us non-Christians are heretics and just speaking the devils word. I think it has more to do with the fact that SOME not ALL Christians are judgmental as well as unforgiving, despite what their BIBLE and their GOD tells them to be.
Most of the devious people I know hide behind a veil of Christianity.

That is to be expected.
Jesus said that a student is not greater than his teacher.
Matt.10.24-28
"A student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.
It is enough for the student to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household!
"So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell
....................................................................................

Look who is calling the kettle black!

Because a lot of christians won't stop saying "i'll pray for you" and stuff like "you don't believe...(enter bible verse here)" and whatknot. People are just sick of the way a lot of you push around your religion and God-talk and other stuff. In my experience, it's becoming quite tiresome, so I can understand the dislike of your opinions....
