I took her to the doctors today, they had to cut it open to see if any puss came out well none did. But she said since it's been there for 10 days something is keeping it from healing. So see gave me some antibiotic cream and some for her to take by mouth. She said to watch her because the antibiotic by mouth, she could have an allergic reaction but she gave her that because it's works better then anything else. If it don't look better or looks worse in the next 4 to 5 days or if she breaks out from the medicine to bring her back in right away. Thanks

Don't let bad opinions get you down. :) Every parent has a time, ok, MANY times when they are unsure of what to do. Please don't think you are a bad parent as some have suggested. If there is puss coming out of it, you should clean it with soap and water, try to gently rub away as much puss as you can, and then put an antibacterial cream on it. Tomorrow call your doctor and see if you can get it looked at. Some bugs, tics, crawl into the skin, and other bugs can leave quite a nasty little poison behind, not usually dangerous to the whole body, but can cause infection at the site of the bite. Don't use peroxide on it. Doctors have recently been saying that peroxide will help kill the poison/infection, but it will also kill all the helpful cells at the sight, and can help ruin the skin, and rarely can aid in scaring. It's much better to clean the cut, bite out with warm soap and water. But please do call your family doctor tomorrow just to make sure he doesn't want to check her out. He will have heard of any dangerous insects around lately, and can tell you if she should be looked at. Good luck, and thank you for asking, that is what shows you are a caring parent.

Okay....depending on what part of the country you live in, this could be many different things. It could be a brown recluse spider bite causing necrosis, it could be the result of a tick bite in which the tick was infected with lyme disease, or it could be simply a scratch. No matter what it is, though, green/yellow drainage indicates infection and the body trying to fight something off. If it is a simple infection, you may be able to take care of it at home. Clean it often, put betadine on it, and keep it covered for a day or so. If it gets worse or you notice other symptoms such as fever, lethargy, chills or a rash, go to the doctor immediately. Hope this helps.

If your daughter is unable to tell you the source of the cut due to age or mental capacity, BY ALL MEANS, take her to the doc immediately! Colored puss is always a sign of infection which will find it's way to the bloodstream if left untreated. GO!

Sounds like a normal cut that's a little infected. Clean it, put something like polysporin on it. If it gets worse or shows signs of redness around it or feels hot, see a doctor.

It looks like the cut got infected. Since you do not know what bit her, going to the doctor would be the best option .

Yes, it sounds like it's infected. Don't let it go. I got a blood infection that was life threatening from a little cut.

yes, you may need to consult a physician.
the clear fluid sounds like serum (what blood cells float in) and the other material could be the by-product of a bacterial infection. she may need a round of antibiotics.
because it may take you a few days to see the doctor, please keep it washed daily with a mild soap and hydrogen peroxide, and a topical antibiotic like neosporin(R) may be helpful. keep it covered and no contact with dirty water.

Yeah, take her to the doctor. I could be an infected cut or a ring worm.

Yes take her to your healthcare professional. Sounds like a bite gone bad or a parasite. Not good, get it fixed.
