I absolutely love my Canon Power Shot SD600 Digital ELPH. It is small, takes AWESOME pictures, with up to ISO 800. It also takes great video. The display is to die for! My husband has the DigiReb, and is jealous of my display. In most conditions, our cameras our comparable. His does better in low-light conditions, but its also about $1000. Mine was $300. If you want to see pictures that were taken with the camera, e-mail me and I'll send you the link to my myspace. I even have a video on there.

Check out the latest issue of Consumer Reports. They rated digital cameras for all price ranges.

The place to go to find this out is http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html where there are stackloads of Digital cameras reviewed.

From there, I'd suggest these reviews, and making your own choice from there, not knowing what your exact needs are...... such as being compact enough to fit in a pocket, or what.

Fuji Finepix E900 barely just sneaks in under your budget if you shop around http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/e900.html

The Fuji FinePix A350 is well within budget, and is the next one up from what I have: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/fuji_a350.html

Nikon Coolpix L3

Olympus SP350

Casio Exilim EX-Z600

Fuji Finepix F10
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/fuji_f10.html
(appears to share some components out of Fuji's top of the range Digital SLR).
