He was in the breakdown lane right on the highway about 200 meters ahead. Amazing...especially in this heat. What dedication, I thought. As I approached him I noticed he had a wheel on the back on the cross to make it easier to carry. Jesus didn't have a wheel. My question is this.....is he cheating? I say if you are going to carry a cross for the Lord, carry it how Jesus did, he didn't have a wheel. Has anyone else seen this cheater?

I seen this man last month in my travels. Although I give him some credit for whatever it is he's trying to do I feel it is not in anyway comparable to what Jesus himself had to bare. If that's his intention he is not only cheating but failing miserably.

I guess that means you need to provide the whips and beat the man half to death (to keep it authentic)???

I mean really. If this man is showing his devotion in such a way you're going to get ripped over a wheel because Jesus didn't have a wheel? Go hire some thugs to beat him up and actually crucify him. Will that make you feel better?

Who are you (or even me) to tell this man he's not doing what he's doing right. He hasn't hurt you and certainly hasn't hurt me. Why not bring the man a soda or bottled water and talk with him? Its better than griping. Get to know the man.

You might be glad you did. If nothing else - give him some bottle water on such a hot day. If you give a cup of water to these little ones because of Him (christ) you will recieve your reward...

We all have to carry a cross. Jesus' cross was not just a piece of wood. it was the sin of the world that he was burdened with.

As humans we are all called to share in this suffering and find the redemption of Christ.

It is superficial to concentrate on the wheel. If this man was cheating I still don't think you could say it was easy. Otherwise, you would be willing to do it. This man was burdened not only by the sneers of his faith, but also by the superficial comments of your question.

I don't care if you are Christian or not at the moment. I merely am asking you to be a person of depth. Think a bit harder and wait a bit before you speak.

We have a guy that walked around with a cross around the city. but he actually carried the cross and did not use a wheel. I think the guy you saw was a cheater.

He's just a poor lost soul who's confused about everything. He thinks he's got to do something for God to notice him. When Jesus said to take up our cross and follow Him, He meant to endure the trials and persecutions of living a dedicated Christian life, not actually dragging a big piece of wood around, fer Pete's sake!

How do you know he was carrying a cross for the lord, did you ask him? How do you know Jesus didn't use a wheel, did you ask Jesus? No.

Well perhaps he was just trying his best to "remind" people about Jesus. Just because he is making his burden a little lighter to carry does not "take away" from what he may be attempting to accomplish. Most likely he was not attempting to be "just like Jesus" he was just trying to get people to "THINK" by visualization of a major event that occured in the lifetime of Jesus Christ, that was done for OUR benefit!
What are YOU doing..about sharing the gospel?

Maybe the individual is just trying ti illustrate the cross, not that he wants to carry the cross, but just want to attract attention, so that people will listen to wat he has to say................ Beside Jesus already carried the cross so that we don't have to carry the cross. I guess he is using the cross to attract attentions to the message that is associated with the cross.

I used to travel a lot and he (they, there are many of them) seems to be the interstate version of the guys who used to stand on street corners with signs reading, "REPENT, REPENT, the END is NEAR."

Just another self-serving weirdo who doesn't have a job.
