In French, it's more clear that you like rather than love him if you say "Je t'aime bien." "Je t'aime" by itself can mean either one.

In German, go with "Ich mag dich" not "Ich mag Sie" unless you're talking to your teacher--that's the only person I can think of that you'd tell you like but use the polite/not-familiar form with.
