I could be more specific if you provided more info about your class. What year graduation was, etc.

Be sure the DJ has songs from the era. The music most people like the most is the music they listened to in High School. It's fun to hear recent covers of songs that came from your four years of HS.

A good mixer game is make a sheet with blocks that have items in them like "Loves dogs" "Has a convertable" "Plays an instrument" "Has appeared on TV" Things you want to know about people. Distribute the sheet to everyone and have them walk around asking people to put their name in a block if they honestly qualify. It gets people talking and breaks the ice at the start of the event. You can time it and give prizes for the people that get the most names or something.

A slide show of pictures that the year book printed and the deleted pictures, especially gag photos or mis-prints or rejects can be entertaining to see after years have passed. Remind them how they used to look, but show them something new that only a few got to see 'back in the day',

Give out something for them to take home to remember the reunion by as well. A reproduction of the Prom invitation or something.

Hi, Firstly, I really love your idea of throwing a birthday party for your mom :) I must say, by doing so, you will do something really nice for her on her birthday :) Now, here are some ideas I thought for you. You might like a few of them. Enjoy! 1. Make a mixtape This idea leaves all the mothers touched! Find out all her favorite songs, download them from the internet and make a CD. Make sure you keep the soothing songs separate from the peppier ones to set the mood right. You can dedicate a song to your mother in the end. Listen to Christina Aguilera's 'Oh Mother,' 2Pac's 'Dear Mama,' Kanye West's 'Hey Mama' and some other good songs. Make sure you play the CD when all the guests are around. 2. Have different fun games for your mom and her friends Try 'Over The Hill Bingo' game. Almost everyone knows the general rules of bingo. Each player gets a sheet of paper with bingo boxes drawn on it. Each box contains one item that these people can relate to. For instance 'aching back.' You can draw strips of paper from a clear crystal bowl and call out the items. The first player who marks all the boxes wins the game. You can also go for games like Through the Ages, Carcassonne, Dominion, RoboRally, Fluxx, Arcana, Killer Bunnies etc. Make sure you reward the winners and participants with something like a souvenir. You can use 1st place ribbons to appreciate the winners and different boxes of party favors to thank everyone else who participated.

I would do a few recreations of game shows that were popular in the 70's and 80's such as having singles there to play the Dating Game (all in fun, and send the winners on a "date" at a special date table set up in the corner of the room (time the date at 30 minutes...just for fun. Give them a little gift, such as two gift certificates for participation
...or hold a retro dance contest.
Hope that helps.

if you're as cute as your aviator how about a little spin the bottle??

just kidding;

there is 2 truths & a lie game where as the name implies each person takes a turn telling 3 things about themselves two being true & one a lie. Folks have to guess which is the truth & which is the lie.

Good way for everyone to catch up with each other & also way to get conversation started, ice breaker.
