i dreamt that there was a funeral going on. It seemed that someone important passed on as there were many people there. It was decorated in yellow.

your dream should be given in detail.. for example someone important... (someone you close to you?) Did you pass by to see that funeral or you were in it??
Anyway, on the surface, here is the meaning of your dream in brief..
1. Funeral going on - (it is about departing.. it could be someone you know leaving you.. does not necessary mean death, it could mean end of friendship, end of relationship ... end of etc)
2. someone important - if this is the person you know, for example your boy /girl friend or spouse, you may have relationship problem.
3. Many people there - You may be in the situation that many people are aware of your relationship with that someone important.....
4. Decorated in Yellow - Yellow means "Ready", if it is about relationship, you still have time to mend it.

This dream could have many meanings but you said it was an important person's funneral. Maby an important person had been in your thoughts and it could mean there leaving or your going to not be seeing them for a while. I can't explain the yellow unless it has to do with all the war that has been going on. I am not sure.
