consider this... If we didn't suffer in this world we would forget God, therefore become self-centered, prideful, etc. When we suffer, many remember God by praying. Picture this... since we don't always listen to God in the scriptures, God's last resort to bring us to him is by him "screaming" at us to accept him. This is done by suffering. It "hurts" him, but he does this because he loves us. God's plan is just and good

Ahhh, Scripture time -

Hebrews 11:25
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

1 Peter 3:17
For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

1 Peter 4:16
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

1 Peter 4:19
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

and the topper -

Hebrews 5:8
Though he[Jesus] were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Reasons enough?

My Preacher Daddy always said when does a child learn his lesson, when his backside hurts bad enough to do different. Well, God is the greatest Father of all, and he knows that if we won't listen to his cautions, heed his warnings, and won't accept his word as authority, then he'll not spare the rod - and we'll feel the pain and suffering, and when it hurts bad enough we'll turn to God, because it's all we have left. I know - been there done that - and it doesn't mean he'll take the suffering away just because we figure it out, it just means that he'll help guide us through and allow us to use our suffering as a witness to others, to have empathy, and compassion, to a hurting and dying world that doesn't know Jesus Christ, the only way to come to know the Father.

why did u answer ur own question first off? second of all god allows suffering because he has everything in our best interest, and if we are suffering then we know theres a very good reason for this and its how we react to suffering that god wants to see, not only that suffering makes us stronger , if everything was just peachy all the time what would u ever gain . i guess you just shouldnt question god, remember jobe, god said 2 him were you there when i hung the stars and the moon. thats his way of saying dont question what i do

When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. James 1:13

So, the questions remain ...

Why Does God Allow Us to Suffer? :
... 'God, Why Did You Allow This?'
...... Comfort for Those Who Suffer
http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2003/1/1/article_01.htm

We can use the things we suffer to strengthen our character. However, isn't it comforting to know that God does not cause or desire our suffering!

God answers all of our questions.
He does not force us to know the answers.
He does -- however -- provide the answers to those who really wish to understand what is going on, and how they can help be a solution to their problems.

In our day, as in Ezekiel's day, He is having such ones educated --

"And Jehovah went on to say to him: “Pass through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and you must >put a mark on the foreheads of the men that are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done< in the midst of it.” Ezekiel 9:4

--with life-preserving knowledge. These learn how they can help -- & be part of -- His plan to "make all things new" ...

'Your Will Be Done ...' When? :
... Is God's Will Being Done?
...... When God's Will Is Done on Earth

"Look! I Am Making All Things New"

God warns us to always be careful what we base our bliefs on. To that end, I encourage you to use various Bibles to compare together (see list below).

"Make Sure of All things; Hold Fast to what is Fine!" (1Th5:21)

God created us as biological creatures, and all biological creatures suffer in one way or another at certain times...suffering is a signal that we may not be making the right decision...it is another mechanism that promotes survival of biological creatures...suffering leads to inspiration to consider new issues and create new solutions to resolve those issues...there is a good side to suffering

This is also proof of Gods immorality. If God is omnipotent, He could feed the hungry, cure the sick, and ease the suffering of mankind far easier than man is capable of. Yet, the Bible states that man is responsible for these things, even to the point of eternal damnation for shirking the duty.

God creates suffering in many forms, yet feels no compulsion to be responsible for it. My 8 year old daughter has more morals than that. I suggest you re-evaluate your code of ethics.

i dont believe that God allows us to suffer ~ even in difficult times, we should try to accept God's plan. He may not always relieve us of a burden, but he will always stand by us through whatever storm we face. We may consider it suffering, I believe that God sees it as growth, and desires for our experiences to draw us nearer to him.

If you refer to physical suffering ~ as in the pain of a dreadful illness ~ consider that the pain is temporary ~ only until we are called home to be with God in his kingdom.

It was never part of God's plan for us to suffer let alone die.The first human pair were created perfect and designed to live forever. It wasn't until they disobeyed God and sinned that they began to age and eventually die.As descendants of Adam and Eve we all inherit this imperfection and too suffer, grow old and die.-Romans 5:12 -"That is why, just as through one man,sin entered into the world and death through sin,and thus death spread to all men, because they had all sinned."
Jehovah is a God of love.Love being His main quality.(1John4:8).And as a God of love,He gets no pleasure in seeing his creation suffer. It is this love that allowed God to allow his only begotten to die on our behalf as a ransom sacrifice to buy back what Adam had lost for all mankind.John 3:16-"For God loved the world so much, that he gave his only begotten son,in order that everyone exercising faith in him, might not be destroyed but have everlasting life."
Jehovah doesn't need our worship,Christians choose to worship God because they love Him and want to please Him.Jehovah God gave each of us free will to do just that

its funny how some people can believe in god---if jesus was around today -and he went around healing and stuff--he would be put in a padded cell--and deemed a crazy man instead of gods son--
lets see--god turned his back on his son in his time of need--hmmm some father--
if a woman that claimed she was a virgin and all of a sudden she was pregnant--she'd be on prozac for mental problems--
god has killed all those that defy him and deny him--more people have been killed in the name of god and christianity than any religion combined--if you were accused of being a witch you were burned at the stake--if you died and didnt use your magic to save yourself--you were deemed not a witch--hmm go figure--
if there is a god--and all the suffering going on would have to be his fault---i think back a movie called clash of the titans where the greek gods were up in the heavens playing games with us people down here---when we get sick we say oh god please help me---and in time we either get better or get worse and die---
then god banished satan from heaven and created a place for him to live--which now has come to be known by us as hell---but yet he hates the devil and those who oppose him --so he has become to hate that which he has created.
so before you go praising to god and saying thanks for my suffering--and ask him why he isnt suffering...for me---- and you--they said jesus died for all over our sins all of our pain but yet sin and pain still exists---
stories in the bible are somewhat retarded--and has everyone judging others and interpretting it the way they want--to me i say if i die and burned in hell for all eternity---at least there--i would be accepted for who i am and not what god wants me to be--

no suffering means a perfect world. A perfect world means no good and no evil. No good/evil leads people to not believe in God since everything is perfect
