duh, because they ARE. smaller classes= more one on one with teacher= more attention=more learning. also, if you send your child to, say for example parochial (Catholic) school they will be taught morals and Christianity and be allowed to pray in school. there is less chance of violence in private school. it has many advantages.

When parents pay for their child's education, the school can be more accomodating to parents. I know teachers who have taught in both settings, and they were required to accomodate parents and pretty much do whatever the parent wanted. If the kid is making better grades and the teacher is not calling home about behavior, the parent thinks the kid is doing better. That may not be the case; the teacher may just be required to do whatever the parents will like to keep the business.
I believe that some private schools may provide a better education than some public schools, but it can be the other way around, too. It depends entirely on the schools in question. I tend to favor the public schools because they are funded by the state, and I don't see the point in paying for education that is provided free. If my children were going to a really bad public school, though, I'd put them in a private school if that was a better choice.

well, i think some parents prefer the more sheltered aspect of private schools. they beleive that by sending their child to a private school, they can avoid some of the immorality and dangers that might be found in a public school. some think the education is better. this is not true in all cases i have a friend that feels he got a much higher quality education from a public school than his old private school. personaly, i think the real-world experience with people and their attitudes that is more commonly found in public schools tips the scale in their favor as quality of education is not consistantly lower. it really depends on where you live and what schooling options are available to you.

Because they think the being in a Private school can protect their kids from the outside world. However, what they dont realized is that the private school students are more likely to commit sinful acts because of the resistence against their will. But ofcourse those sinful acts are behind close doors. I will never send my kids to a private school. Why hide what is going on in the world? The more they know, the more they can be aware of such things. The more they know that it's bad for doing certain things, the more they can think for themselves.

I think that public schools are better. But I am a biased parent. I was home-schooled and felt that I missed out. I did attend only grades 1-5 in private schools (Christian), and they were really bad schools ( I think parents send their kids to these schools hoping the school will shapen their kids up. Then the kids from better homes are stuck with theses other kids in their private and small school- with less friends to choose from)

The quality of education is sometimes better in the private schools. I have attended both public and private schools in my past and I know the education quality is better however the social aspects are not always better.

I went to a private school for most of my elementary education, and when I attended sixth grade at a public school, I had the same history textbook that I had in fifth grade! Basically, private schools are more advanced than public schools.

It is easy to think that private is better because you are paying for it and you expect more. The idea behind private school is that they can do a better job than public, that's why they exist. The teachers get paid more and the school isn't run by city or state wide consensus - they cater to a local, smaller communty. Plus their reputation is dependent upon success and good referrals.

I think it is better If I would have went to private school I would have graduated. Public schools are really crowded and students don't get individual attention. I think if your a parent wanting your kid to succed at their best then you should choose a private school.

Typically because private schools are attended by folks who have $$$ to attend. If you have a parent who is willing to make that sacrafice be thankful! Public schools are not what they use to be - not that they are bad... but the Private Schools typically have better curriculum and have access to more things (I say this from experience)

generally the education is better and parnts thing the kids are well behaved and all the drugs are not weaved out. but dude, i go to a private school and yeah education is tougher... but theres some pretty wild parties and half the kids go to class high. haha its great. but yeah. parents are stuck on the stereotypes of private education... 1. colleges prefer them 2. better kids 3. better education 4. better oppurtunies, but i think in modern days thats not the case.
